Everlasting life has to be the vainest concept ever devised. It appeals to people's worst fears (death) and not their best values (such as loving their fellow man).
For another example, the 10 Commandments have inherent value and don't require religion to implement the spirit of their teachings.
God/ religion is the biggest scam EVER.
The charity with the kettles at Christmas isn't a charity at all. It is an ultra right wing CHURCH that rakes in $100 million dollars (tax free!) every holiday season, and some of the money has been used to fund the legal defenses of numerous accused child molesters --its ministers. It is an evil evil organization, but the public has been fooled. Everyone assumes it is peaches and cream.
