I'm new to the board and had to chime in to this thread. I respect everybody's opinion, first and foremost. That is what this country is about...The freedom to express yourself and the freedom to your own opinion.
That being said, you shouldn't comment so fiercly about things which you do not have a personal knowledge of. How many of you out there have ever seen first hand someone shooting at you while hiding behind a womans robe who is carrying a child? I have.
How many of you have flown over a freshly dug mass grave full of people (including children) that were left for dead because they disagreed with their government? I have.
WMD or not, that regime had to go. Most of the innocents killed over there were because the bad guys were using them as shields around there meeting places or hide outs. Ask the Kurds in northern Iraq why they hated Saddam and his sons so much...He used CHEMICAL WEAPONS against them (women, children, and everybody else) to see what effects they would have.
My sisters and brothers in arms are over there fighting for the freedom of the United States, and the freedom of the Iraqi people. We believe in what we are over there for. Don't let the press inflate all the bad while not reporting the good. They have a bad habit of that.
I'm not going to hide behind a screen name either. I have done two tours in Iraq with another looming in the near future. Call me flag waving. Call me a war monger. Whatever. I do my job so things like September 11, 2001 will never reach this soil again.
