There are very good cultural reasons this is such a big story, and it has larger implications the way that blogs did when they first came out.

People know that there is a public Paris and a private Paris, like any celebrity, and a hacker becomes a curious conduit to that other reality that people find fascinating.

Not saying it's right, of course, just what it is.

It's very interesting that in one of the pieces I read online about Paris being hacked, Paris' spokesperson said that nude pictures of Paris being released are one thing, while having her "personal information" released to the public is quite another.
