Really? If this means anything, I have never invested in any other extension except .com's and .net's here and there. That's in like 10 years of doing this.
The interesting thing is the uptake from Indians on their own extension has been enormous by all accounts. That's the domain equivalent of finding the restaurant that the natives eat at when looking for a meal in a strange country.
