I wouldn't buy right now though, I personally think its a bad idea even though I don't know all that much about real estate. Several houses on my block have been on sale for 6+ months and finding a place to rent isn't near as hard as it was 18 months ago. I think prices will drop within the next 18-24 months, just something to think about.

thanks. ya i'm not planning on buying for a while still, but starting to research in more detail. going to fly down there once i've got a better idea of the areas and spend some time just driving around and stuff..
