It was the inner data ring.

I don't believe any protection on data will stick, until decoding is hardware reliant. I.E You need to have a 'data decryption card' in a spare PCI slot to decode DVD's or CD's etc... and even then I'm sure someone would be able to hack that.
They should just give up and produce the CD's without protection, they'd save money on licensing out the protection software etc.
