rsync can be used if your data doesn't update too often otherwise its
a pain. I'd suggest nfs on a raid5 server if you dont want to use a netapp.
thats the storage part.
for load balancing you can use a server with a program like pen or
an apache2 with mod_proxy or mod_backhand... or squid if you wanna do caching... or....
the solutions are endless, google is your friend.
