I think being annoying" someone is not enough reason for someone to hit me.
Especially if that person claims he loves me. Really provoking him would include cheating on him, or stealing his money, or messing with his business; that would deserve a beating. Being "annoying" is not a good reason for him to hit me. And him saying that he understands why people kill their mates in rage, to me is not normal either.
If my attitude was annoying me, he should have discussed it with me, not use force. Because obviously he is much more stronger physically than me.
So, I think that is very weak to use force against someone not as strong as you.
