I know I'm not a sister of anyone but, my first and longest friend turned out to be gay. I've known him since I was three,... our families did everything together,... he was #1 in the class and I was right behind.
Right after my now-husband met him for the first time, he said to me afterward, "you never told me the guy you've been talking about non-stop for years is gay". and, you know... I never noticed... and it didn't matter. He's still the closest thing I've had to a brother as long as I can remember and I love him to death.
It took a while for his father to get back to "normal", but his mother and brother were so supportive it was great.
What I couldn't fathom was carrying that "secret" around for so many years. I mean, I'm storing a LOT of secrets that people have told me over the years, but something like that has to be hell to carry! Thank god you have someone close to you now to confide in... and I hope it all works out even better than you've hoped it would
