They are spamming you thru the join list.. so the sites you sign up for are selling your info , or doing the mailing themselves.
What i find really annoying is WEBMASTER programs that sell your list. At first its just advertising other sponsors , then as the list gets sold down the line it turns into regular surfer email spams..
