Heh, that's a great quote. Where's it from?

In my case it's certainly true. I'd love to KNOW, as I suspect many others would. However, I do not know, and the ludicrious amounts of counter-intuitive, counter-reality dogma I'd have to swallow in order to give myself over to a faith-based existance goes against every fibre of my being. At my core I'm a rational, reasoning and (I believe) reasonable person who preferrs facts to 'shutting off my brain' and living life in what I consider to be a lie.

It would appear that, barring some astonishing, life-altering experience, I shall forevermore take The Red Pill... regardless of how bleak those facts might be. Part of the geas of living a reality-based existance is that you start to develop a bit of a cassandra complex around the true believers, having the luxury of being outside the system and seeing the manipulation of those within. Eventually, as my personal value system evolved, I realized that it's pointless and even rude to try to coax those individuals back into these waters that they metaphorically consider labelled 'Here There Be Dragones." They choose to define their existance in ways other ordain, I chose another course... and while I would celebrate those who would chart a similar course to mine, I have no hate for those who would deny it.

If only that basic respect could trump the tribalistic us-vs-them mentality and was honoured by all, the world would be a far more pleasant place.

Elli: Thanks hun Always nice to be appreciated!

I'ma still kick your ass in air hockey tho
