I don't know where you're looking, but I just checked over on Ebay and there were a handful that went for $220-$240, but a majority of them are going for $250-$400 JUST for the barebones system !!! Look at the completed auctions and you'll see. Heck, look at the live auctions, I think that more people are realizing you can buy them on Ebay now, so that's pushing the prices up higher because most of the current auctions are closer to $300 for just the system. ALSO, I'd rather have the US version just to be sure that everything is gonna work ok
