just because you dont consider it religious, it is nothing more than a reward/punishment system that is present in every major religion.

Just because a person believes they should do the right thing and treat people how they would want to be treated, does not make that person christian or buddhist. Also, if one notices a consistent correlation between doing something "right", having something right happen, doing something "wrong", having something wrong happen, does not make that person religious either. Karma just is what it is and a lot of people never realize it, or brush it off as coincidence.
