For the casual asker I just say I do websites and they'll say "cool" or "interesting". For someone digging a little harder as to how money is made I say by matching up advertisers to the target audience of the page. I head off people wanting me to "get them in to it" by telling them they'll have to learn HTML first and build some pages then I'll steer them along or they can come up with their ideas and copy ready text and hire me to do it
. If anyone in "general company" wants to know my website address I just send them to one of my mainstream sites
