As a USPA rated jumper I can tell you that the maximum rated tandem dive is with a passenger of 250. The largest person I've ever seen jump was just at 300 and required the largest canopy we had in inventory.

I'm not criticizing, I'm personally 6'2, 225 and jump with a canopy that's called a "man-o-war" if it gives you any idea. When you're falling from the sky at terminal velocity.... weight, balance, and how much nylon is over your head tends to be critical....
