A man wants to send a package to his friend across town. All mail must travel by ground. Unfortunately the roads are rife with criminals and thieves. Therefore his locks the package up with a single key lock.

Without damaging the lock or package how would his friend retieve the contents on the package. Hint:It is not a combination lock.
