If you're going to be near New Orleans for gambling you should head about an hour east to Biloxi. Lots of casinos variety and awesome buffets.

If you like seafood plates or sandwiches and are in N.O. check out Cafe Masperos on Decater Street (right across from the Jackson Brewery mall). They bring out an unbelievable pile for a great price. If you like calimari you will never forget it there.
