In fact I remember emailing mainstream studios/companies/content providers back in '99 and they thought I was insane. Now "on demand" is part of most of their strategies.
Now we're seeing portable devices like Microsoft's PMC (Portable Media Center) and PVP/PMP (Portable Video/Media Player) that are able to download (from your PC) 20GB+ of video, mp3, etc and also able to download satellite feeds from XM/Sirius radio and soon more-robust content (movies/music/more) on demand wherever you roam. will be exciting.
