My friend is doing a site for a mainstream company, and he's really good, etc...any design he's done in the past has either been for himself or for friends. He asked me today if he should bill them before or after the site is done, and I had no clue since I don't design nor have I ever placed any formal orders, outside of my friends. So how do you guys do it, do you charge before or after for work, or does it depend on the client?
