ok..about the coins....providing it's not a single-sided scale, you could do it in 3 times by placing 4 of the coins in each scale leaving the 9th one on the table to see which side is heaviest...if they're even then you know the coin on the table is counterfeit, if they're heavier and one side isn't even then you take those 4 coins and weigh them one against the each other for a maximum total of 2 times (1 coin for each side). Did that make sense? LOL
