Sold as a "tanin bomb" this Portugese "Tres Bagos/Douro" exported by Eric Solomon, was a bit disapointing.
Salty, alchoholic, after 1 hour decantering, it failed to deliver the goods, and the only food it was good with was the fried Queso Para Freir cheese, which has enough salt to be complimented. It fell like a wop who brings a knife to a gun fight with a steak and did nothing for mashed yams scented with cumin, sour creame and salt.
I admit, none of those dishes are Portugese, and we didn't test it against baccala.
