I would suggest seeding the board. Bascially that means loading up different nicknames, starting a bunch of threads and you talk to yourself a good deal. Make a couple topics that has two points of view, one of you takes one point of view, the second takes the opposite side. It is things like this that really get people starting to post.

As people join, your "characters" drop off one by one so no one really notices too much. Many of the large mainstream companies seed their boards prior to opening and they usually keep on one or two "seeders" to insure a constant influx of ideas/subjects etc. Campbells Soup, Turner Movies etc. were all seeded.

No one wants to join an "empty" board, no one likes to be the first to post. Most like to lurk a bit, read some thing etc. before joining, so you have to give them that stuff. Once you get a few members, it is the members who end up getting others to join and pretty soon you are all over the net. It does not usually take long at all.

If you need help with seeding or just more indepth information on how you can do it yourself contact Core Adult (in my sig). They are very good about giving out advice.
How do you go about actually getting them to the board? (what type of traffic)
