Love the game, but never seem to win.

Lots of books talk about the game statistically, which is fine in limit Hold'em... but no limit (the sexy version we all love) changes things enormously.
Here's some free advice that Dutch Boyd gave us last year on another board:

Thanks man...
As for tips, I'd say unless you've played some poker, you're probably better off just learning basic strategy and playing a single deck blackjack game if you can find it... use basic strategy (just do a google search) and you won't be giving up more than 1% to the house. Anything else is pretty bad. Roulette sucks, Baccarrat sucks, Keno sucks HARDCORE for players...
But if you have played some poker, just remember that you're probably better off playing somewhere between 10/20 and 20/40, play very tight... and once you find a hand to play, play it strong and hard. If you're playing Holdem, stick with high pocket pairs (Jacks or over) and high suited cards. If more than four people call before it gets to you before the flop, play any pocket pair (dump it on the flop if you don't hit a set) and suited connectors higher than 45 suited. Don't slowplay any of your hands. If you play like that you won't be losing.
Hope it helps man. Win big.
