And it's for this reason:

In local games, casino games, people who chase cards are eventually destined to lose overall. They eventually lose. Noone's going to argue that.

In online poker, every flop, 7 people are at your table calling bets each chasing a different straight or flush. So even flopping 2 pair you're destined to lose even with you opening with 2-3 raises before the flop. Those bastards are still there. And of COURSE they're going to bust out playing like that.

That's how you make good money - punishing people like that for chasing.

But it's online poker. And there are an unlimited number of people playing online. So that person who just caught a flush to beat your set on the last card after putting in $50 with NOTHING might bust out in an hour, but there will be 6 more guys like him sitting down next time you're at a table again.

But that's my theory. That's why I don't play online anymore.
Getting bad beats by dumb fish is really frustrating but it pays off in the long run. I pretty much only play the No Limit single table tourneys so I make those fish PAY to chase those flushes. I can't play limit games for those reasons you mentioned, you can't get people to fold preflop with a min raise.
