I could really care less about jews. Actually, I find mormons more objectionable. So, the bottom line is, you hate Israelis and Zionists, and you revert to reading these threads, because "they" take your tax money and because "they" occupy land against your better judgement.
1. The money the US gives Israel every year (roughly $4 Billion), is largely (more than 85%!!!) CREDIT for Israel to BUY goods IN America, from American companies. This way America gets to KEEP most of the money it "gives" Israel each year. In fact, the money the US "gives" Israel every year SUPPORTS the American economy! The US government does NOT send Israel ships loaded with dollar bills. They give Israel the budget to buy IN the US. According to the American Treasury Department, more than 85% of this money is consumed in the US.
2. As for the rest, the money that the US does physically send to Israel, well, the American governments have this tendency which upsets you, to support democratic islands in oceans of crazy single-fanatic-ruler regions. If the US didn't contribute to Israel in the last 50 years, the entire middle east would be ruled today by the likes of Nasser and Ayatula Humeini - and American soldiers will have to fight and get killed over this land. For that EXACT reason, and although they are NOT democracies - the US is supporting Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jorden with billions and billions of dollars per year - all from YOUR tax money. Do you also hate them???
3. Israel's occupation of the west bank and Gaza is for a single reason: the Arabs used this land as a platform to time-after-time attack mandatory Israel. Israel will not give it back until there will be peace. Israel gave back every inch of occupid Egyptian land and Jordenian lands - because they had leaders who agreed to give Israel peace in return. The Palestinian tragedy is that their LEADR (your friend Arafat) doesn't want to give peace in return for this land! Barak and Clinton oferred him the territories. In return he restarted the Intifada. The fact that Israel occupies the west bank is against the better judgement of most Israelis. But NO sane Israeli will give back this land to Arafat, until he makes a choice to stop being a terrorist.
You, as an American, should understand that. How many buildings must fall on your head until you realize the simple truth that terrorism is NOT a political agenda? It is something no free people can live with. Every nation in the world would set to protect its own women and children.
