There aren't any weapons anywhere close to the inmates, if they wanted to the could take it at any time. Most scenarios there is one officer to about 100 inmates.
Once an inmate puts their hands on you all the rules are out the window. As long as the camera isn't rolling.
Once they touch you, you can pretty much do what it takes to restrain or contain them, because you were in fear of your life.
It is all in how your write the report
