It didn't take me years of learning how to edit. I learned it all on Vegas within months. It's so fucking easy to use. That's the problem. You tend to outgrow it pretty quick.
I'm sure there are amazing things that can be done with it. Just like I'm sure there are amazing things that can be done to html in notepad, or amazing things that can be done to images using paintshop pro. But I don't want to spend 4 days compositing and fucking with filters, and motion controls when a stronger editing system can do what I want in less time.
Have you seen my editing samples? http://redshoe.net/samples/RedShoe-new_demo.wmv Done completely with vegas and a VX2k. Took me a couple of days to do. MOST of it is just fast cuts. There are hardly any real effects added to it.
I'm not saying I know all there is to know about vegas, I just know that I want more out of an editing program. One that can output on the fly perhaps. One that doesn't throw macro blocks into a DVcam on export would be nice.

My point with that quaote was that premiere was setup purley to edit video, and thats whay it takes less time to do it, and it is easier to get more precise. While vegas seems more of ACID turned video editor.
