Actually. It's very newbie friendly. I bought vegas and was editing with it in no time, and within a few weeks had created the first CollegeFuckFest trailer. And in less than a year was editing for several other websites.
It didn't take me years of learning how to edit. I learned it all on Vegas within months. It's so fucking easy to use. That's the problem. You tend to outgrow it pretty quick.
I'm sure there are amazing things that can be done with it. Just like I'm sure there are amazing things that can be done to html in notepad, or amazing things that can be done to images using paintshop pro. But I don't want to spend 4 days compositing and fucking with filters, and motion controls when a stronger editing system can do what I want in less time.

I'm not saying I know all there is to know about vegas, I just know that I want more out of an editing program. One that can output on the fly perhaps. One that doesn't throw macro blocks into a DVcam on export would be nice.
