If you can afford Avid you will not find anything better for the PC. Premiere Pro 1.5 is a joke as well, we use it for nothing but exporting frame grabs.

You don't know what you are talking about. Premiere can do amazing things for its price. In fact,
a successful, criticaly acclaimed full lenght feature moive that was just released was edited entierly in Premiere.
