As for managed or unmanaged, I found it was just too much of a headache to handle myself when there were problems & there will be problems! cPanel is great, but security holes are found & it needs to be upgraded. If you try to upgrade from the GUI interface & your box goes down, you need to know how to telnet etc. to get it flowing again.
