Fighting for democracy for me(and my friends/allies) is important. Invading a country on the other side of the world that had nothing to do with attacking me seems a little short-sighted, in my opinion.

If this was really about democracy then why didn't the US invade Cuba( or any other non-democratic country) all this time?

You are correct in stating OIL as probably the Real reason for this war.
Which I don't think is worth killling innocent people.(Without oil ; other methods of energy will be given priority for development ; and while the $$$ cost maybe a little higher in the beginning ; it will be better in the long run)

How would you like it if you were just conducting your business as you do daily and then some foriegn country decides that it would be in your best interest to be governed in a different way(by lying about the justification of attacking with false claims of your WMD), so they destroy your countries infrastructure and kill 100,000+ of your people(and maybe some of your love ones), then occupy your land until the government system that they like is fully installed(along with the businesses of their choosing)?

I know the chance of this happening is very slim but try to put yourself in someone else's shoes.
