Which is unfortunate, because in my opinion mainstream logos are so different than that..  So from now on, I'm going to include a flashy beleved 3d logo with fades all over the place for any contests I enter, just to make sure I cover all grounds. |
couldn't agree more...
but again if the only place this is going to be used is on the web, then maybe concerns about print work (stationery, biz cards, etc) isn't an issue.
i dont know if i have more of a 'mainstream' style, but i do strongly believe in simplicity, and iconic logos, which can be 'spiced up' later...
it may be somewhat short-sighted to choose to use a logo that is 'flashy' but doesnt translate well to mediums other than the web, but that's a lesson that, in my experience, needs to be learned by each client, in their own time
congrats to jawanda, for giving the client what they were looking for, which after all is all that really matters (or pays =P)
