That would be up to your cable company. The typical install uses dynamic allocation of IPs. So you would have to start with dedicated IP service. Many cable companies offer this through their business department. Think some still don't offer it.

For example I have DSL with 5 dedicated IPs. I pay more for the business service as opposed to the home user with DHCP.

You'll need a router in addtion to the modem, Suggest that be a router/firewall with abuiltin Ethernet Switch for your application.
