they had a couple that failed and never made it. i guess here on earth the chance for human error is greater than in space. usually they get one shot and test for years for that one shot. we half ass stuff here, probably someone watching a screen of where the trains are, decided he/she wanted to come into work late or go get coffee.

Someone fell asleep at the switch...
we can send a rocket into the sky
and hurl a satelite through a gazzlion miles of space
have it eject a lil ball that falls to the surface on Mars...
ball bouncess all over hell and back
then out climbs a lil 6x6 tractor robot that collects data for months on end
and sends that data back to earth on a daily basis...
and yet, we still cant keep simple stuff down here from runnin into each other... How we dont have some auto switching/shutdown systems with failsafes galore on these trains is just beyond me.....
