Canadian Adult DVD Classification Laws

I recently received a question about the process in Canada for getting adult DVDs classified and approved for sale. I've provided a link below to a table that sets out all of the rates and requirements, including the licensing fees and rules regarding "adult sex stickers" that must be affixed to each DVD sold.

Please note that most of the other provinces have comparable laws, but each province takes a somewhat different approach. Feel free to contact me if you are interested in getting information about the other provinces. You can find my contact information at the bottom of the linked document.

Please also note that the law in Ontario is expected to change soon as a result of the recent introduction of Bill 158. The changes are part of a court order (the Glad Day Bookshop case) that required the province to change the law by April 30, 2005, to comply with recent obscenity decisions in Canada. The law may soon change in the other provinces as well.
