Okay, so much of this is politics so yo don't even have to see the actual films sometimes to know who is going to win.
I still have some films to see because not all of them have been out in the UK yet but here are my guesses so far for the biggies:
ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE
Johnny Depp - FINDING NEVERLAND - it is his time and Hollywood wants to reward him for going 'mainstream' with his films. Clint might be the darkhorse here for similar reasons.
ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Jamie Foxx - COLLATERAL - for not getting it for 'Ray'
ACTRESS IN A LEADING ROLE
Kate Winslet - ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND - Because they blanked the rest of the cast and she is nominated twice for the BAAFTAs so a lot of academy people that are British would have seen her performance and they will block vote.
ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE
Natalie Portman - CLOSER - Hardest category for me to call but going with her because she was also decent in Garden State this year and Hollywood loves her at the moment.
ANIMATED FEATURE FILM
THE INCREDIBLES - It just will.
CINEMATOGRAPHY
THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST - easy way out
DIRECTING
MILLION DOLLAR BABY - It is Clint, there is buzz, he will win.
DOCUMENTARY FEATURE
SUPER SIZE ME - Firstly, I wish I could actually see most of these films BEFORE the awards because I love documentires. However, this will win simply because it has the 'Micheal Moore' factor in that it made money and people have actually heard of it. Like, with Bowling For Columbine, there will be something else in the list that is actually better (Spellbound when it was against Moore) but I won't get the chance to see it for years.
MUSIC (SCORE)
THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST - Again, easy award to give without seeming preachy.
BEST PICTURE
MILLION DOLLAR BABY - Too much buzz not to happen.
WRITING (ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY)
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND - Nothing more than wishful thinking on my part.
