Say, "What are you doing later on?"...She'll say blase blah and then you ask for her phone number. Then when you call her, ask her if she'll go out and then you don't have to do it face to face.

I wouldn't ask her out at the store though...I'd get her phone number....UNLESS she hinted to you that she wanted to do something that night and then you would just ask her to go have something to eat after work.
