If that's what you're doing, you should get yourself a preamp to run your inputs through.

I run a mic through a little ART StudioV3 preamp and it helps a ton. Here's a song I was messing with last week (I'm still writing parts for it). The acoustic guitar is a peice of shit my wife got on Ebay for 20 bucks but it doesn't sound too bad mic'd up well.

That sounds great man! Yeah, I'm running the mic directly into the soundcard. A very ghetto setup. i have stand alone equipment that I normally use to record songs with my band, but I'd like to get into computer recording and editing. I'm gonna check into that preamp you were talking about. That's a nice clean sound. How did you go about micing up your acoustic? Built in pick ups?
