When you're doing design work, some ECMAscripting works on standards-compliant browsers (like firefox) that doesn't work on MSIE. Whenver I do devel like that, I work mostly on firefox or mozilla and then 'adjust' to compensate for MSIE's quirks. The problem is that a lot of people design for MSIE only, making their sites look like shit to a significant (and growing) browser market when they use MSIE-only bogosities.
It's always a good idea to regression-test your code and sites against other browsers. If it increases your exposure and profit potential and costs little in labour, why not do it?
