and another thing...
I think it was Truman who had welfare recipients working on roads, parks, etc. and he said that they WILL show up for work, even if it's to lean on a shovel handle.. which is how it should be... Once these freeloaders, who are abusing the system, realized that they had to show up somewhere, they'd be less likely to stay on it.
There are lots of things they could do to earn that welfare money.. but again, the gov't doesn't want to look at it that way.. they'd rather we just support em and be done with it...
