It's interesting how some people really take to math and some don't. I don't think it's taught well at all. The people who are good at math are often not good at communicating how it is done. In the US, a lot of sports coaches are thrust into the role of math teacher. I don't think it is going well at all. I taught high school for a year after I finished college. In fact, I was still teaching when I started my first porn site.
Nowdays people are learning less geometry and are losing the one high school class where they really learn about proof. Statistics should be a core high school class. There are a lot of great applications such as election polls, how difficult winning the lottery is and the probability of coincidences.
