Understand your position and I hope your work will get done. I know that in the past I fell behind, and didn't know how to respond, but I did extra work and never billled out the balance. I work 50/50 or 1/3-1/3-1/3 for payment depending on the project. I felt okay with this but a few clients didn't and learn my lesson.
Tootie just seems like an honest poster not to screw others with design. I am assuming that she has no internet connection. Who knows, but she is a good designer that seems to have bad luck. I just hope that she and her kids are not living on the streets. And wonder why her husband couldn't get one or three jobs to provide for their children while their mother was busting her ass doing cheap design jobs.
Not saying that your job was cheap, just saying that maybe she couldn't avoid things. Or then again a Christmas scam, I doubt it.
