That was a classic little dummy sucker punch.
Pretend to be trying to avoid the fight and walk away, then catch him as he shouts shit at you.
HINT: I've been in a few scraps in my time, heres some advice, the guy that stands there pushing and shouting doesn't want to get in a fight in the first place or he is scared. He is trying to psyche himself up enough to go through with it. Dont give him that opportunity, if you are going to push someone make sure you are only pushing them back to a good punching distance, push primarily with your weak hand and hit with your strong IMMEDIATELY.
