Coriolis would not apply in any case as angular momentum is constant and most people's rolls are aligned horizontally rather than vertically.
You may want to check local anomalies in the Earth's magnetic field that have been especially prominent during the current solar storm as being the cause of the problem.
Of course it goes without saying that if you have a plastic or nickel-plated roll holder, none of the above applies unless you can verify the exact time the mold was cast with the manufacturer so as to have a base with with to quantumize any residual Tesla field effects.
