Maybe you should be reminded that the "Don't ask, don't tell" policy is a relatively new policy. During the 2nd World War...they did ask and if you stated that you were a homosexual you would be denied the previlige of serving in the military...thus serving their country. The "don't ask, don't tell" allows homosexuals the previlige of serving in the military...thus serving their country.
