No problem. You acquire friends by people requesting to be added. Then you go thru them and hit approve (I always approved anyone who asked to be added). Also, you can surf and find people's profiles to add to your friends list. It's not that tricky. I would definitely recommend it as a way of promoting your blogs. They actually have a blog section on there too so you could mirror your posts there if you wanted to.
