I had a mystery dent appear on the back of my van a couple years ago, and a good idea who did it, but a similar lack of proof. No paint damage, just a one or two foot dent. I got a suction-cup dent-pulling-thingy from a store, and after a few tries, it mostly worked. It was actually kind of fun pulling it. :-) You can see the outline a bit if you're looking for it, but it's a fairly worthless vehicle and I'm not fussy about vehicle appearance anyway. You might want to try such a device, unless you want to get the door back to new-looking condition.
