Funny.. I could have sworn they have been getting along fine for a long time now.. israel has peace with jordan, israel has peace with egypt, (take a trip to the sinai sometime - place is crawling with israelis! At least it was until arafat started fucking around), israel has had secret and not so secret relations with many arab & muslim states.

And you know what? I could have sworn in my apartment building when I lived in the heart of tel aviv that the jewish and arab families living there got along just fine..

jews and arabs CAN get along and they DO get along.. the problems in the middle east (not just in israel) are caused by fanatics & dictators.. arafat is both of these.

btw - there are even ARABS in the ISRAELI army.. doesn't that just throw a spanner in the works?

but as for religion being the root of all evil.. I tend to agree with you there, however.. most israelis are not religious and most religions are not so militant as islam these days..
