Just got back from exhbiting at Internext Vegas and Webmasters at our booth shared some of the sentiments seen in this thread. Screens too small, US market not ready, faddish. We heard the same cynicism at Internext Florida last year. But the International market for cell phone content exists and is growing exponentially.
We can all hypothesize why it exists - true mobile privacy, sharing content with buddys over IR/Bluetooth, 'nomadic nooky'. The truth is there are sociocellular reasons why consumers download porn that we don't quite yet understand - a little bit like the ringtone phenomena - Cell phones have become the Ipod of the adult industry in the International market - but nobody quite knows where the tipping point originated. The important truth is that US adult webmasters can commercially leverage this right now. Webmasters with at least 10% international membership/traffic are benefiting by cellular enabling their websites and enjoying fresh, novel revenues.
