Since 1996 I've had checks arrive late from every sponsor and program. I've had CC-Bill checks late several times and it has always been slow mail. CC-Bill has always mailed on time for me.
The post office has dropped the ball more times than I care to count. They have delivered to my neighbors, I've found envelopes with checks on my front lawn, I've had mail sent back to sponsors marked "undeliverable", I've had checks come 3 weeks late in envelopes that look like a truck has ran over them. If your check is just a couple of days late I wouldn't sweat it.
We are all getting a little spoiled. Back in the day sponsors used to pay monthly and even then they paid 3 or 4 weeks after the month's end. So you could wind up waiting up to 2 months before getting paid with no set schedule for payments.
I never even contact a sponsor unless it's been at least two weeks, especially during the holiday season.
